This information includes your name, age, address, telephone number, Social Security number, and other information needed to determine your eligibility for benefits and access to human resource information. benefitexpress makes sure this information is secure by requiring you to sign in with an assigned Username and a private Password. We suggest that you change this password to one selected by you. The Password may be alpha or numeric and must be between 6 and 12 characters in length. You will sign in with this Username and Password every time you enter the system. This Username and Password will allow you to access your account from a computer at either your work or home.

When you visit our site, we also collect data automatically about your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your e-mail address, your benefit elections and information on your use of our site. This information is used to adjust site performance and to provide you with more personalized information and choices through benefitexpress. If benefitexpress links you to another site, you will be notified that you are linking to another site.


Information Security

benefitexpress employs state-of-the-art security technologies and practices to protect personal information provided to us. All personal information is secured behind firewalls and encrypted using SSL technologies on our servers.

Information Disclosed to Third Parties

When you select or change your benefit coverage through benefitexpress, this information will be transmitted to two other parties. Once you've selected a benefit plan, benefitexpress will send to the employer and plan provider only the information that is necessary for your health benefit coverage to take effect. Typically, this information is limited to your name, age, address, telephone number, Social Security Number, dependents covered, the name of your primary care physician, and the cost of coverage. In addition, benefitexpress occasionally works with sub-contractors on systems' administration. These sub-contractors, by contract, strictly adhere to benefitexpress' policies for security and privacy.

You may choose to use benefitexpress service center staff to help resolve service or claims payment issues. In this instance, you may be required to provide personal health information to benefitexpress to receive this assistance. This is a voluntary action on your part and requesting assistance authorizes us to receive and share this information with your health care provider and/or the claims payer to resolve the issues. Individually identifiable health information will NOT be provided to your employer.

The only time we provide or transmit personal information is at your direction, as necessary for enrollment purposes or as required by law through subpoena, administrative action, or the existence of a clear physical threat. benefitexpress does not resell, trade, lease or rent our user's personally identifiable information to other companies.

Please remember, however, that any information (including personal and medical information) that you reveal in a public forum (such as a bulletin board, mail list, chat room/event) is not subject to this policy and will be seen by third parties not related to benefitexpress and may be used by them to contact you or for unauthorized purposes. Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Data

benefitexpress is committed to securely maintaining your personal information. In order to protect your privacy, it is important to NOT save your Username and Password on your computer if you are prompted. If you save your Username and Password on your computer, anyone using your computer can access your information.

When you first enroll, you'll need to make sure the information we have is correct. After that, you can confirm that your information is accurate and up to date by reviewing it on our Web site or calling our Service Center. If demographic information is incorrect you need to contact the appropriate contact at your employer to correct the information. Benefit enrollment information, however, can be changed within the My Benefit ExpressTM system.
