Nominations are submitted by fellow peers, and are tallied, read and carefully considered before being awarded at our company-wide 'Town Hall' meetings each quarter. Each award is read aloud to highlight just how much the winners have done to deserve the recognition—and when their names are finally announced, we rise to our feet in applause! Client Delivery Manager, Ashlee Jackson, wins the second Standing Ovation Award for the third quarter at benefitexpress. Keep reading to see why Ashlee is not only deserving of the award, but an incredibly valuable member of the benefitexpress team.
What is your role at benefitexpress and how long have you been working here?
I am a Client Delivery Manager, responsible for overseeing multiple client accounts from implementation to ongoing administration, and, of course, annual enrollment. I started as a temporary employee in April 2015 and was hired as a permanent employee that August, equaling over four years of service.
What motivates you, in general and at work?
I take pride in my job and have a desire to be the best I can be. I truly love what I do and also genuinely care about my clients so my goal is to keep them happy. Anytime a client sends me a thank you note and/or expresses their appreciation towards me, that motivates me to continue working hard and striving for excellence.
What does a typical day look like for you? Can you describe your day-to-day duties?
A typical day for me consists of responding to client email inquiries, working with internal teams on projects such as new EDI file feeds, leading clients through the renewal process, ensuring their portals are setup accurately, and administering training sessions. I am very attentive, and some may say that I "spoil my clients," but I am big when it comes to client resolution and always make it a point to resolve all client needs as soon as they come in. I do my best to stay available for clients so it’s never a surprise to catch me on a few one-off client calls during the week.
Why do you like working at benefitexpress?
I like working at benefitexpress because there is always an opportunity to grow within the company. When I started in 2015, I was hired to be in the call center. From there I became a Client Support Specialist, then moved up to Implementer. Now I am a Client Delivery Manager, managing my own book of business. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge working in these positions as well as learning a lot from my co-workers. I appreciate the opportunity benefitexpress provides and I am extremely excited for what the future holds.
How would you describe the benefitexpress culture?
A lot of us describe the company culture as the “Community Effect,” where we all come together to work on a common goal and magic happens. That has been my exact experience at benefitexpress. It’s like having your brothers and sisters or best friends as co-workers empowering you, motivating you, lending a helping hand, teaching you and overall genuinely caring about your career goals. My co-workers have helped me gain knowledge that has played a part in my success at benefitexpress. Taking the time out of their day to help me gain deeper understanding in my day-to-day tasks has helped me exceed client expectations.
