This is an exciting few weeks – as open enrollment is an opportune time to better understand your employees’ decision behaviors and uncover what matters most when it comes to benefits offerings. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on your organization’s open enrollment communication strategy.

The answer depends on your strategy and employee demographic, but one thing can be said for certain: email is a tried and true method for employee communication.

For example, most recipients won't spend time reading an email that is too long - but you still need to include key information. What to include in your email communications also depends on whether the enrollment is active or passive, or if your benefits packages have changed since the year prior.
